Good morning, everyone!I'm Gao Qi from Class 2213 High。The topic of my speech today is "Keep civilized manners, be a gentleman".。

When we read quietly in the library, we must not want to be disturbed by noise;When we are talking to others, we do not want to be interrupted by others。In our daily life, such scenes can be seen everywhere, which contains the principle of etiquette。Rites seem to be vicissitudes of life and far away, but they have long been integrated into every minute and every second of our lives。

The concept of "rites" can be traced back to the Shang Dynasty, which was originally the regulation of sacrificial activities。With the development of The Times, rites evolved into the hierarchy of ancient society, and later, it was extended to the code of conduct and moral norms。From the traditional point of view, rites are an important part of Confucian culture。By guiding, regulating and restricting people's behavior, rites suppress the evil of human nature, promote the good of human nature, and cultivate one's character。From the modern point of view, ritual is the foundation of people's livelihood, and the practice of ritual makes us improve our moral level and spiritual realm, and better integrate into society。

For the students of Tsinghua High School, the ceremony has a deeper meaning。The so-called "self-improvement, moral commitment", my generation of students shoulder the responsibility, naturally need moral character and knowledge complement each other。Only on the basis of ritual, set the heart and cultivate the body, can become a broad virtue, do a gentleman。

Civility, first of all, requires us to abide by the rules and be positive。"Mencius" cloud: "without rules, can not become square。Rites, as a code of ethics and conduct, require us to abide by certain rules。Otherwise, the principle of propriety can not be implemented, and its function of correct body and mind can only be a piece of empty talk。When students enter and exit the teaching building, they do not run diagonally in the corridor and do not shout loudly, which is the embodiment of the practice of etiquette。If everyone follows these rules, the teaching building will be orderly, peaceful and quiet。When we internalize these rules in our minds, incorporate them into our actions and actions, and transfer positive energy, our moral and spiritual realm is once again elevated。

Civility also requires us to think of others and foster harmony。The Analects of Confucius has a saying: "In the use of rites, harmony is precious.。Another cloud: "The gentleman is harmonious but different.。Rites maintain the boundaries between people and clarify the relationship between people, thus eliminating confusion and disputes between people and making social life harmonious。In our daily communication, we establish a sense of respect, do not interrupt the teacher at will in class, and pay attention to the back face when handing out grades to students, which is also the embodiment of the practice of etiquette。When propriety becomes a habit, our society will be more friendly。
